Unresponsive MacBook while logging off?

I was using my MacBook when the safari became unresponsive so I closed it and when I restarted safari it was fine. However when I logged off my MacBook became frozen again so I had to restart my MacBook. I'm wondering did I just over heat my MacBook? I've turned my MacBook back on and it's running no problem.

No, it's more likely just a malformed page that crashed the network stack.
