Since I have used Firefox as my main browser I have often wondered what the purpose of the green Status/Menu Bar at bottom of the screen is for.
It appears to contain what are a collection of icons from iTunes?
How can I delete this if it's of no significant use?

Hello and welcome.

-Which version of OS X?
-Which version of Firefox?

It sounds as if you have an extension installed in Firefox that has something to do with iTunes. Let us know the above versions, and we'll make some suggestions on what to look for.

OK...

-In Firefox, click on Tools in the menu bar.
-Click Add-ons
-Click on Extensions and Plugins and see what is installed

If you list them here, we might be able to identify the culprit.

Thanks.

From that list, the ones I would uninstall/disable/remove are:

Extensions
All-in-One Sidebar
Download Status Bar
DownThemAll
SafeBrowseSearch.com
SaveFrom.net - Helper

Plug-ins
All of those are OK

One of those extensions is the cause of your issue, I am just not sure which one. Try disabling them one at a time until the issue is corrected.

Many thanks. "Download Status Bar" was the annoying culprit.
Many thank for your guidance.
