SOLVED Transfer files to new machine

Hi, I have an iMac 21.5" mid 2011 + Sierra V 10.12.6 and just purchasing a MACmini.
Question what is the best way to transfer all apps and files to the new mini. Not very tech minded and there seems to be a variety of ways to do this
I just need the dummy version.

Migration Assistant will do the job for you. It will transfer your entire Account, including all Applications, files, and Account settings from your old Mac to your new Mac.
