thumbs in iphoto don't represent the real picture

I have a probem when i scroll through pages of photos in my library, the thumb nails don't correspond to the actual photo which opens when double clicked and enlarged. It doesn't affect all the pictures and as i vary the size of the thumb nails the i can see the thumb nail changing between the original and the superimpossed picture. I am using iphoto 5.

Should i rebuild the library as has been suggested here for other issues or any other suggestions

Hi johnA and welcome, I would go ahead and rebuild the Library and see if that sorts the thumbnails out .... press Option + Command as you launch iPhoto, to bring up the rebuild dialogue ...
