The annoying noises and the fan sounds.

Hey all, I have a MacBook and I'm wondering why it's so loud sometimes. There are even weird noises going on. For example, when I start my Mac, or wake it up from sleep, it checks the disk tray every time and makes this loud, annoying sound. Also, when I run apps like CrossOver, the fan starts going crazy and it's so loud.

Help?

I have a white MacBook running Leopard 10.5.0. 80GB HDD. 2GB RAM.
