Annoying popup windows

Hello! I have an up to date iMac, and I use Facebook a lot, but recently the Mac has started being way too "helpful," opening popup? windows when I go to hit Like, in fact almost anywhere I click on the screen. Not just Facebook, also in Preview and while browsing in Chrome. I get a white box, full of things I don't want to choose from. Can I make them go away?

Sounds like you may have a third-party Internet plug-in installed or some annoying malware.

Try downloading and installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac.

Let us know if that corrects the issue.

There is a strange object like a sticker which shows up on some sites, though those sites are not related to the same organization. Can anyone tell me what this is ? It is also on my screen as I write this ; earlier today it was on a health site, a news site, and a tech forum. I've uploaded a screen shot of it for identification.

Sorry, was unaware I had been answered. Just installed trial Malwarebytes and ran it. So far, so good! Thank you!
