Strange email

Good afternoon all,
A rather odd email has appeared on my iPhone 6, as below:
No sender
No subject
This message has no content.
It's dated 01/01/1970 (very peculiar!)
It can't be deleted as it can't be opened; has anyone else had similar? Any suggestions?

I had a couple like this in Mail on my iMac, I found the easiest way was to do a "rebuild mailbox", which got rid of the offending items.
