Safari requires me to re-authenticate every time

Hi,

Since OSX Mojave, Safari has required me to go through the rigamarole of authentication with various secure sites (bank. credit card, even Apple forums) despite my saying remember this device every time. On a thread I can no longer find on the Apple forum someone suggested I delete some files that EtreCheck had found might be a problem. I don't know why unrelated files cause this Safari behavior but it seemed to work for awhile. Now it is happening again. I'd be happy to post the latest EtreCheck report if that would help.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers,

John

Hello and welcome.

-Are you running the latest macOS 10.14.4 Mojave?
-Have you double-checked the security settings in Safari?

I will look into this further and post back.

Yep, 10.14.4. The only settings I see for Security in Safari are 'warn when visiting a fraudulent site' and 'enable Java script.' Both are checked.

Thanks for looking into this.
