Safari 14.0.3

Most recent Safari will not play embedded videos and very slow loading many sites. Is there a solution?

-Which model Mac?
-Which version of macOS - Big Sur I assume?
-Do you have any ad blocking or other Safari Extensions?
-Can you give a couple of links that have the videos?
-Have you cleared Safari History recently?

It's a last year's 13" Macbook Pro, OS 10.15.7, Catalina. I do use an ad blocker but the embedded video malfunction occurs on blocked and unblocked sites, eg the Guardian.co.uk. I haven't cleared Safari History.

Everything worked until I updated Safari.

I would definitely try clearing history and website data in Safari. You may need to login to any websites again after clearing it.

Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac

Also, have you tried it with Google Chrome or Firefox?
