ok so im pretty new to macs. but my sister made a cd and she has a baby and i wasnt home and i think the baby was hittin the keys... anyways when i reboot it the tone comes on and the grey screen for like a split second and then it goes directly into the shell. i thinks its the shell 2.5 for the os x. i tried many commands but only some work. it wont let me out of the shell. i tried to reboot into safe mode, i tried typing in exit as a command but that doesnt work either.
