Questions about MAC OS from a novice in Mac

A friend gave me a Macbook pro which has MAC and Windows XP installed. I guess it was created by the Parallel Desktop. I have a few questions.

Q1. Do I need to buy MAC OS if i want to upgrade it?

Q2. How and what are the steps for removing Parallel Desktop and just install MAC OS only ?

Q3. Do I need to have MAC OS Installation disk if I want to remove Parallel Desktop ?

Q4. If I re-install MAC OS, do I need to have the disk of MAC office to re-install them.

Q5. Any good website for learning how to operate MAC notebook? Is the new version of MAC OS different from the old version very much ?

Depending on which Mac OS X version, you either purchase the physical dvd from Apple or download the upgrade from the App Store. Removing Parallel Desktop requires nothing more than 2 steps & an uninstallation package you download for free from Parallels website.

You need the install media for Office for Mac to reinstall it if needed. You can learn about Mac OS here: https://www.apple.com/support/mac/
