question about changing default applications

i recently got the adobe CS6 suite. previously, i have been using cs4. i got the Q2ID plug-in for indesign cs4 so i have set the default application for all quark documents to indesign cs4. the problem is, now that i have cs6, the computer has changed that to the default program. i cannot use cs6 for quark documents becuase i do not have the plug in yet. i have tried to change the default program back to cs4 but it keeps changing back to cs6 automatically.

does anybody know how to fix this problem???

any help would be much appreciated!!!

quark documents to indesign cs4

In Finder select a single document of the File Extension you wish to change. File > Get Info, Open the Open with: section. Change the Popup Menu to the correct App.
Click the Change All... button.

thanks for the reply but that is how i originally changed it. the problem is that it is defaulting to the newest version. not sure why...ugh!
