Problem with time machine

Seasons greetings Everyone
I have just recently downloaded Maverick on my Mac,and now time machine
is unable to back up due to an error created in the backup folder.If there is
anyone that has encountered this problem or would have suggestions
on how to fix this problem.it would be appreciated.

In System Preferences ~> Time Machine ~> click on "Select Disk" and make sure the correct disk is being used.
