I have an imac using OS10.11.6. Unfortunately my version of pagesi is 4.3. I cannot open older documents, and gather that I have to update to pages 5+, but as a relative novice, I cannot figure out how to do this. I am willing to pay apple for the update if I have to, but mostly need to be able to open my older documents. Thank you

Hello,

You can upgrade/purchase the latest version of Pages directly from the App Store application.

I don't use Pages, but version 6.0 came out on September 20th. Here is a link to the App Store that describes it:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pages/id409201541?mt=12

However, note that version is compatible with Sierra, OS 10.12. You are using El Capitan, V10.11.6. So, if that individual sent you the document that was created with Pages 6.0, you cannot open it, I believe. When you purchase it, it is then downloaded to your machine. From there, you should have been offered a dialogue as to whether to install that version.

I'm not sure how you can get version 5.0, but again if the person who sent you the document used version 6.0, you will not be able to open it, I believe.
