My desk top documents won't move as they did before -why?

I used to be able to move what I saved on my desk top and now they won't move well the do but move back immediately, what have I done?

Do you have 'Stacks enabled'?
Right click on the desktop and see if 'Use Stacks' is ticked. If it is, untick it and see if that works.
