MANY duplicate photos

I am using Photos to edit and store photographs, and I have Google photos installed, as well. Over time, many of my photos are duplicated 2,3,or 4 times. I have used a duplicate cleaner app to identify and delete them, but they seem to reproduce again. What's happening?

Hello,

Sounds like they are cross-syncing somehow between Google Photos and iCloud/Photos.

-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Are you using the Photos app, and which version?
-Do you have your Google account setup in  > System Preferences... > Internet Accounts?
