One Gmail too many !

Can I someone help with this please ? Dont know how this happened but I now have two identical gmail "mail" icons on my screen - both identical - and both constantly updated - how do I get rid of one ?

Is this Gmail Desktop Notifier or something similar ? Have you restarted ? You could try uninstalling then reinstalling it

No - its just the classic Mac symbol for acces to email (eagle) - except that I have 2 - on on the screen and the other on the toolbar - content of both identical and up to date - but if I delete the on on the screen the one on the toolbar deletes as well !
How can I get rid of the one on the right of the screen without removing the one on the main toolbar at the bottom ??
