Hi,

I came home from work today and my macbook had gone out because it wasnt plugged in the power outlet. I plugged it in and wanted to start it. But the same screen appears every time (for hours now). I never had a problem with it, and the battery usually lasts 3-4 hours.

Specs: Macbook Pro retina 13". Ultimo 2013.

I hope somebody can help, because this is just ridiculous

Hello and welcome.

At first thought, it may be the power adapter. Even if the battery is no longer functioning properly, the MBP should start when plugged in with the AC adapter.

Try an SMC reset: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

Also, make sure you are using an Apple 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter, not a 45W version from a MacBook Air, as it doesn't have enough current to charge or run the MBP.
