MAC will not recognize blank CD to eject it

Put DVD in Desk top mac, now it won't burn, nor will it eject it, nor will it recognize that there is a DVD in the side of it. how do I remove this DVD? Tried itunes, eject, triedn burn.app eject, tried restart to eject, tried logout to eject, it will not recognize that there is DISC INSIDE OF IT.

On cd drives there is a little tiny hole in which you can stick a pin in and it will force the drive to open

This has happened to me a few times and I found that shutting the computer down and then re starting it again and holding down the mouse button at the same time that should eject the CD.
(The CD can get hot when it is stuck in the drive and if you wait a while for it to cool down before restarting - --)

There is no "little tiny hole in which you can stick a pin in and it will force the drive to open" in the modern Macs.

You may also find that the Eject command in iTunes will force an Eject when other methods fail.

The great thing about computers, is that there is usually always several ways to achieve the same goal ... Disc Utility found at Applications ~> Utilities, also has an Eject Disc button as well as a left pane where you usually see discs that are in your drive. Also if you press and hold these keys: Shift + Command + U the Utilities folder with launch.
