Hi, I'm Debbey. Just joined this forum.
I need to make a video tutorial to teach my friend abroad how to solve a computer problem, plz suggest me a good video recorder which can really record what is taking place on my Mac screen. I hope to get crisp video quality and can upload the recorded video to my blog. Free tool would be the best. Thanks. Btw, I have upgraded my computer to Mac OS Lion. Help! thanks!

Hi and welcome,

Thumbs up for Walrus666's QuickTime hint, new screen capture does the job perfectly for me.

QuickTime is quite well. you also can try macx video converter from digiarty (free in its giveaway), claims to capture screen and also output in avi, mp4, flv, mov formats. It depends on what you demand.

The built-in QuickTime Player or Screenshot Toolbar on a Mac typically meets the needs for basic screen recording. However, if you're looking for advanced features like recording both system audio and microphone, live editing, and zero-lag recording, you may need something more professional, like DumpMedia Screen Recorder.
