Mac Mini G4 OS X won't boot

Hello,

I have wiped my harddrive clean after saving all the important stuff onto another harddrive. I am now trying to reinstall OS X but the Mac won't boot from the disk.

I have tried ejecting the disk and restarting holding c numerous times.

Now I have a black screen saying Darwin Kernel Version 8.7.1: Wed Jun 7 ..... panic: We are hanging here ...

Please help!
