iTunes + Mail quit immediately after opening

I just did a Software Update last night, and when I turned on my computer this morning, I discovered that when I click on iTunes OR Mail, they begin to open (the icon jumps up and down in the dock), but then quit immediately. I've tried uninstalling and redownloading iTunes, but it didn't work.

Help?
