incredibly slow

I have an old imac--lamp base style. It is incredibly slow. What can I do to speed it up

You might check the RAM, maybe you can add more. Also you could check if you could maybe add a larger hard drive. Check how much available space you have and remove programs that you don't use. Also run a maintenance program like OnyX to clean the G4 out. Do you have the original or Full Retail version install discs?
