Image importer software suggestions

Hi
Recently migrated from Win to MAC and so far I`m a happy puppy.
But, I really need a software that can read my DSLR, see what is imported already, import the new stuff and save the files in folders based on date.
I was using PlayMemories Home from Sony but the importer doesn`t work on my MacBook Pro.
It starts to download butt uses several minutes per image.
Unable to fix the problem so I need suggestion for another app.
Please advise

The best app is "Image Capture" that should have come as a stock app with your mac. If not you can download it. Its great for all Picture files even video. Hope this helps, Dennis
