It is my personal opinion that we are not there quite yet with iCloud. Most of this seems to come in Mountain Lion.
Dropbox is excellent and I use it between Mac and Windows for Word and PowerPoint documents all the time. I dragged my Dropbox Documents folder to the sidebar in Finder so it shows up in the Save/Open dialog in all programs.
