How did I just lose 20 GB on my hard drive simply by looking at downloaded images?

I was looking at & moving picture files from Downloads to iPhoto (yes iPhoto). I went from about 55GB to 35GB on the hard drive—and it's stayed that way for about a week since. What in the name of damnit?

While I'm still interested in knowing what the cause was, I figured out how to solve it now.

Well, I just used MacClean to scan one of my Library folders & I deleted so much stuff [that I'll probably regret deleting before long, ha].

I wonder if Onyx does the same? It is what I use for cleaning stuff off both of my Macs (along with TechTool Pro). Both products have always served me well.

Worth a shot! Two user accounts on here — using this feature alone I went from ≈30GB to ≈63.5GB then to ≈82.5GB.
