Hello and welcome.

-Is this an actual Mac Pro or a MacBook Pro?
-Do you have another hard drive that you copied them to?
-How did you copy the folders/files - drag and drop to another location/hard drive, copy/paste, etc.?
-Are the original folders still accessible?
-Does this issue occur with other folders/files?
-Were the folders that you copied actual folders or possibly just aliases?

We'll see if we can figure out what happened.

Hi
Mac Pro Tower 1.2
Copied from a USB HD to an Internal HD
select, copy paste
No, they are not :(. I copy folders with files back and forth all the time. This is the first time I have had this problem.
No they were actual folders
Thanks :)

OK, thanks for the additional information.

Your process may have worked in the past, but that is actually the way to copy items in Windows. On a Mac, the normal way to copy files from one drive to another is to simply click and hold on the items, and drag-and-drop them to the destination, between two Finder windows for example. And, if you hold the Option button, it will make a copy on the same drive, while leaving the original intact.

Maybe the issue this time is the way the USB hard drive is formatted, possibly for Windows?

Strange issue.

Thank you :)
No the USB is formatted for MAC. But I'll remember your advice.
One other thing I found is that if you follow a certain sequence when
copy a group of folders, it only copies the folders, no files. :)
Take Care

No problem.

I am interested in what that sequence is that copies on the folders, as I haven't come across that. Would be a good learning experience for me and others here, if you don't mind sharing.
