SOLVED Help with MAC OS X

I'm new to mac and have given up on trying to upgrade or load any programs. Is there anyone out there who can recommend a tech person who can help me remotely? I am quarantining as my partner has a compromised immune system or I would go to someone locally.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Hi, thanks for your response.
My niece gave it to me as she bought a new one, so I think she said she bought it in 2013..
OSX Yosemite, Version 10.10.5; Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5; Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3; Startup Disc Apple SSD; Graphics Intel Iris 1536 MB.
At the very least, I'd like to get a full Adobe PDF as well as a word processing and spreadsheet. I tried to get the Catalina upgrade but every time I put in my Adobe user name and password, I get the message the message: This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store. I even changed my password but that didn't help.
