iMac Booting Problems please help

Hi,
I have an imac running MacOs High Sierra.
Its been having problems booting up, it wont boot properly, getting stuck 3/4 way on startup progress bar.
If I boot it in recover mode and run disk utility then restart it starts up fine.
Till after the next shutdown when this all happens again.
I have tried erasing and reinstalling but this make no difference.
It has been upgraded to an SSD drive last year but has been running fine since, untill recently.
Any ideas please ?

A few things to try:
-How to use Apple Hardware Test on your Mac (iMacs before June 2013)
-How to use Apple Diagnostics on your Mac (iMacs after June 2013)
-How to use safe mode on your Mac
-How to reset the SMC of your Mac
-Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

See if any of those help and let us know.
