Help transferring info from PC

I just bought a new Macbook Air about 3 weeks ago. I am searching for a new job and I had my resume originally written on a PC on Microsoft Word. I sent it to my self via email. I tried to open it and edit it and am having a lot of difficulty. The resume is 2 pages and for some reason it wants to separate the name and address part from the rest of the first page. I ended up moving everything to the second page, but now I can't delete the first page, and it won't let me format it like I want; for example I am trying to move my name and address to the top middle of the page and it won't let me. Any help would be appreciated.
