Help, I lost my Macintosh HD icon !!!!

i just one day turn on my Mac Os x to find that the HD Icon is missing !

I've checked my Finder> Preference and saw that my Hard disk is checked but still!

Does anyone have an idea how to get my Mac HD icon back?

Same problem.....Suddenly the icon is gone.

Is it checked under Finder > Preferences > General? That's where the check mark should be.

Mark the HD icon -> Press "apple"+i -> Click on the LITTLE HD icon in the window that appears -> Go to the Edit menu and choose Cut

Try going through each stage of this article until your HD returns. I'm pretty sure your problem is here somewhere.
