Hardrive & Currys Cloud

Good afternoon.

As usual l am having my annual 'tussle' with my Currys Knowhow Cloud!

The point is as l also have an external hardrive, soooo do l need Knowhow Cloud?

A few years ago l deleted over 17000 photos, and Knowhow saved my bacon and l restored all of them from there. Thus l am loath to give them up!!

I assume that Currys Knowhow Cloud is the Currys Cloud Backup company that provides online backup of your data? If so, that is a recommended component of a proper backup strategy.

Personally, I have several backups of my data - a 14TB RAID 1 drive connected to my main M1 Mac mini that syncs to an on-prem 42TB (6x12TB) Synology NAS and Backblaze (another online backup company). It is recommended to have multiple backups of your data, especially if you rely on hard drives alone, as it isn't a question of if, but when they will fail. The online backup also provides offsite storage in case of fire or theft.
