repair hardrive

iMac 4.1 Intel Core Duo 2 GHz running OSX 10.6.8. HD needs repair from OS X installation disc, which is OSX 10.4.4 and will not run Disk Utility. Upgrades to 10.6.8 have been via downloads. Screen shots of repair instructions are attached. Helpful advice to resolve the difficulties greatly appreciated. Cheers, David

I don't know, but ran OSX 10.5.8; ran disk utility three times; after third run disc says 'The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK'. I guess I'll be satisfied with that. Your help appreciated.
