Deleted root user-won't boot

OK, dumb me did what I they tell you not to do, mess around in the root. I accidently deleted root user on my G4 desktop. Now it won't boot, comes to the end of the activity bar for starting OSX and just stops.

I tried to start it by holding down the Control S and typing the commands they show there but it says it can't find root user. Wonder why.

Anyhow, what do I try next? Is it a clean install or can I do something else? The system is OSX version 10.4.11


EDIT: I have a G4 Power Book running the same system if that will help. I'm not sure where my system disk is right now but I'm looking.

Problem solved. A clean install and updates did the trick.

This is where I would normally thank those who helped me but well... there weren't any.
