I just did a clean re-install of Tiger and found that I no longer have this: the menu bar used to show the complete date as, e.g., Thursday, 30th August 2007, then the time. Useful as Alzheimers sets in.

I guess there must have been some little app that put this there, but no idea what it was. Any suggestions, preferably freebies?

BTW why don't Apple give this as an option?

hi
go to system Preferences -> Date&time -> Clock
select Show the date and time
set the options you like.
if it is not working go to your HD -> system -> Library -> PreferencePanes
and delete DateAndTime.prefPane after that restart your computer and do the first steps
by the way .. it is good idea to keep this file on the desktop tell you restart your computer and adjust the setting ... in case you can't you can return it back ... after you R sure you got what you need delete it

hi..
try this ...
take your pref. folder out of your Lib folder as this:
HD -> Users -> your name -> Library -> PreferencePanes
keep this folder on desktop and restart the computer...
if it is working it is ok and only you need to reset your other setting..
if not return the folder again and delete the new one... then restart again...
do the same with the full pref . folder from the main Lib as the following:
HD -> system -> Library -> Preference and restart the computer...
if it is working it is ok and only you need to reset again the other setting..
if not return the folder again and delete the new one... then restart the computer...
in case it is not working after all of these ...... I don't know .. this is upnormal case
