Cracked my macbook air screen - is this covered in 1 year warranty?!

Hi, I have a small black crack on my screen and the lid won’t close after my friend dropped it on the floor. Is this covered by 1 year warranty? It’s 7 months old. If not, any idea how much this will cost to fix? Thanks!

Hello and welcome.

Physical damage is not covered by the standard Apple warranty. If you purchased AppleCare for your Mac, it would be covered.

I believe the cost through Apple is around $400-500 for a Tier 2 repair. You may be able to find it for less money, but make sure you use an Apple Authorized Service Provider so that you get Apple OEM parts and reinstate the remainder of your standard warrantly.
