changing email default in dock

How do I get the default email address in the dock to be the one I'm now using? Thanks.

The Dock Icon is just a shortcut to the Mail app.

Mail Preferences, is where you setup email accounts.

Thanks that helps. Step two ... I went to accounts, but what is the incoming server/password and outgoing server supposed to be??? this may not be something you can answer without knowing the particulars of my email (gmail, if that helps). Thanks

If it's a GMail Account click the Plus and choose GMail from the list enter your username and password and you're good to go. If the other one is not being used click the minus and it will be deleted.
