Can't save pics down

just recently if i try to do a file save image as on a pic i get no response. nothing hapens. i see there is an error console - it says :

... can you provide a little more info as to exactly what you are doing, what apps are involved (if any), the method of saving you are using, whether you are trying to save a pic on a website/digital camera to your HD, etc and the specs of your Mac/Mac OS version installed.
