Can't receive email

I changed my password with my provider (earthlink) because of fraudulent emails. I use Mac mail, and now I receive email but cannot send it.

I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give to fix this problem. Thanks!

Hello.

Sounds like the Mail app settings are incorrect somehow.

-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Do you have a current Time Machine or other backup of your data? That would be wise before going through any troubleshooting steps.
-Where did you change the EarthLink password on your Mac once it was changed through them?
