Brother Printer Printing Many Copies Rather Than Just 1 Problem ?

Hello,

I have a typical Brother B&W $100 Printer for the home. Model is HL-L2300D
Like it very much, but-

Even though the setting options, print options, qty, etc. are all set to 1, it still
prints out 4 or 5 copies each time, rather than 1.

Anyone have any suggestions how to fix this ?

Seems like something in it's memory has the qty of 4 or 5, and it doesn't see the single copy request.

Possible to purge or clear the memory for this ?
Or,...?

Much thanks,
Bob

Hello,

-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Are you running the latest driver for the printer?
-Does this happen when printing from all applications, or just one/some?

Hi Cory,

Nice to her from you.

Running Mojave

Always printing from WORD.

Have the latest Drivers, I think ?
Is there a very. number for the Driversto check ? If so, where ? What should they be for latest ?

Thanks again for help, and putting up with my dumb questions.

Stay well,
Bob

Hi Bob,

Good to hear from you as well. No questions are dumb at all...that's why we're here!

-Which version of Word?
-Does it happen in Excel or PowerPoint as well?

If it only happens in Word and not other applications, then it's Gott be some setting or a corrupt preference in Word. Have you tried printing a single page document in Word, and set copies to 2 in the print dialog box? See if that prints only 2. If so, then change it back to 1 and see if that resolves the 5 copy issue.

You can check the printer driver version as follows:

 > System Preferences... > Printers & Scanners > double-click the pinter in the list > click the settings gear icon > General > Driver Version
