My Apple Watch is paired with my iPhone, but it doesn't show up in the Find My app. I followed the instructions on Apple.com, but I'm stuck at the first step: it says to open Settings on my watch and tap my name, but my name isn't showing up. How can I get my watch to appear in Find My?

To get your Apple Watch to appear in the Find My app, you'll need to ensure that it is properly set up with your Apple ID and that all necessary settings are enabled. Here are the steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

Step-by-Step Solution

  1. Check Apple ID on iPhone:
    • Make sure your Apple Watch is paired with the iPhone that's signed in with your Apple ID.
    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    • Tap on your name at the top to view your Apple ID details and ensure that the same Apple ID is used on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
  2. Ensure Find My iPhone is Enabled:
    • Go to Settings > Your Name > Find My > Find My iPhone.
    • Ensure that Find My iPhone is turned on.
    • Also, ensure Share My Location is turned on.
  3. Enable Find My on Apple Watch:
    • Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
    • Go to General > Apple ID and make sure your Apple ID is listed.
    • If your Apple ID is not listed, you might need to unpair and then re-pair your Apple Watch.
  4. Unpair and Re-pair Your Apple Watch:
    • Unpair:
      1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
      2. Go to My Watch tab.
      3. Tap on All Watches at the top.
      4. Tap the info button (i) next to your watch.
      5. Tap Unpair Apple Watch.
      6. Follow the prompts to complete the unpairing process.
    • Pair Again:
      1. After unpairing, bring your Apple Watch close to your iPhone.
      2. Follow the on-screen instructions to pair the watch again.
      3. Ensure you sign in with your Apple ID during the setup process.
  5. Enable Location Services:
    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
    • Make sure Location Services is turned on.
    • Scroll down and ensure Find My has access to your location.
  6. Check Apple Watch Settings:
    • On your Apple Watch, open the Settings app.
    • Scroll down and tap on General.
    • Tap on Apple ID and make sure your name and Apple ID are listed. If they are not, re-pairing the watch as described above should resolve this.
