Apple ID help

Basically, all im trying to do is get album artwork from the itunes store without registering a credit card because i dont have one. It says you can sign in with an apple id, and im trying to figure out what mine is. I only use a few different usernames and passwords for everything i do, and ive tried every combination. Do i still have to create a separate itunes account on top of my apple id?
