Apple External CD / DVD Drive Problem

I purchased a new 24" iMac and am using a QGeeM 7 in 1 Type C Hub to connect a Seagate Plus backup drive (works fine) and an Apple CD / DVD external drive.
The iMac message referencing this drive says "adapter needs power." The drive continues to work properly on my late 2013 27" iMac. Help! Thank you...Tom

I read somewhere that the QGeeM 7 in 1 Type C Hub is not compatible with an apple superdrive.

Is the hub powered?

No it is not powered. That may very well be the problem. I'll need to research to find a better match. Suggestions appreciated! Thank You.
