Can't burn CDs with external Apple USB drive

HI new friends,

I may have turned 70, but I've been using Macs since 1989. Before I enter full geezerdom, I'd like a little help crossing the busy street....

that is, I used to burn CDs for friends with my earlier Mac Book Pro (which I gave to the kids when I upgraded to this new Mac Book Pro which lacks a CD slot). I used my new external Apple USB SuperDrive to install a CD with Pages on it (sorry, almost wrote Apple Works / Claris!).

Anyway, I have a playlist on iTunes ready to burn to a new CD. It's not working. Any helpful ideas? Don't make me use my 2003 Lampshade Mac!

-Which version of OS X?
-Does it give you any errors?
-Can you burn and discs directly from the Finder?

HI Cory,

Thanks for rushing to my rescue. However, things are fine -- my problem was that I forgotten one needs to create a playlist to burn CDs! Once I recalled that important procedure, things worked fine. But all is not lost -- at least I found MacHelp!
