App for leaving "sticky notes"/messages within folders/elsewhere on Mac?

Hi all, just as per title: any apps out there that will allow me to add text/other info within documents (other than on folders/files within that document)? I'm not sure if this is possible, but it would be really handy to leave some distinctive text etc. within a document with information about that document.

Hello.

You could use the Get Info box fot the document. There is a Comments: section where you could enter a few notes about it.

See if that will work for you.

Hi Corey,

I am aware of the "Get Info" box, however I'm looking for something that will be displayed all the time, so that whenever a file is opened, the aforementioned text is visible.
I'm not even sure if this is possible, but maybe something similar will suffice, such as folder names that are visible in their entirety- not abbreiviated in order to fit the small space below the folder...

No worries.

I do know there is something like that for Windows - Attaching sticky notes to Microsoft Word Document and PDFs in Windows using Notezilla. But, it looks like it only does some file types.
