App store doesn't recognize my password, even tho it can be used in other environments. e.g. iCloud.

Hello,

-Which version of OS X/macOS are you running?
-Did it work previously?
-Have you tried signing out of the App Store, then signing back in?

My password worked previously
I can't sign in to the store. My password is not recognized.
I am also having much trouble with my Contacts app which is being discussed in another forum.
I'm wondering about a virus or a genie.

OK, thanks.

Can you sign into the iBooks store in that app with the same Apple ID? Or, have you tried icloud.com?

I can sign into iCloud and open my computer with this ID - in fact the ID is accepted anywhere, any time except for the App store

OK, that's good.

-Did you ever try signing out and back in to the App Store?
-Did this start after you upgraded to Catalina?
-You could try updating to 10.15.3 Catalina
-Do you have an Apple Store near you?

I can't sign out because I can't sign in.
Yes, after Catalina
I updated to 10.15.3 - no luck
Appe Store not close.

I contacted Apple and it seems I'm the only one with problems,m - they discounted a genie in the works. It ended up with my having to change my password. Thanks for all your effort (*_*)

Great, glad it's resolved.

I would have recommended that, but I didn't want something to go awry or make you have to update your password on all of your other devices.

Ahhh...so maybe you were typing in your password, but one of the keys wasn't registering?
