AirPods connect to my phone while in the case

Hi there, people; I've noticed my AirPods automatically connect and override my Bluetooth speaker connection, even when the AirPod case is closed. Often, I find them drained by morning because they've been active all night. How can I prevent my AirPods from entering standby/activating when not in use, without turning off Bluetooth since I'm using another speaker?

It sounds like there may be some dirt in your AirPod case.

Using a Q-Tip with a little bit of alcohol on it, clean out the section of your case where the stems of the AirPods go into the case.

Then use a dry Q-Tip to dry out any alcohol and brush out any loose dirt.

This should resolve your issues.
