Just started my laptop MacBook Pro and got zapped by a warning to immediately call a certain number for Mac OS Support to remove free of charge a trojan. Apple Security Alert Error code: #9x83d47d....... Is this a genuine offer of help for a real situation from Apple or some trap by fake, non existing virus? Therefore I do not dare to call the number without someone advising me to do so without fear. Please help if you can.

It’s a scam. Malwarebytes (free version) or DetectX Swift will probably remove it from your Mac.

Thank you very much for the guidance. I was scared to call the given phone no and at the same time scared to disregard it too!......So according to your suggestion, I went ahead and downloaded Malwarebytes free version and even made the first scan to find out that the Mac is free of any malwares. YIPPEEE ...!!!!!
