2-Factor Authentication - iCloud

I have my iMac (Sierra) and my iPhone 7 (iOS 11) linked in the same Apple account with 2-Factor Authentication. Every time I need 2-FA, I get the code not only on the other device but also on the very same device I am logging in. If I stoled the Id, password and device, and log in on it, I would be able to authorize myself (kind of crazy thing).

Any help on this please?

If your iPhone is has the Home button is much easier to use the fingerprint reader. And the new MacBook Pro's that uses the LED F Strip actually have a Finger Print Pad/start button. I use on my iPhone and iPad Pro the Passcode I use the six character code system for 2FA. I don't how the face - recognition software will shake out.
