Why Mac asks for flash players for streaming sites?

Recently while watching a movies online on some free movie streaming sites, chrome is asking for flash player. Although as per I know, mac doesn't need any flash player to run video streaming? Any idea about this.

Most of the time, if a site prompts to install Flash while using Chrome (if it works on other Flash sites), is because it is actually a harmful site with a virus/malware/phishing/etc. download of a fake version of Flash.

Which site(s) in particular?

Do not down load them, if you want flash updates go to Apple system Preferences and update from there, if you don't have it in stalled go to Adobe sit and get it from there
